Mac and Linux computer users can both play at Party Poker using the instant-play, no-download option. If you have a Mac and would like to play at Party Poker, all you have to do is visit the Party Poker website and click the “instant play” button on the front page. A new window will appear and you’ll be able to play poker just like everyone else.

To be fair, I had never tried the Party Poker instant play before writing this review. As a PC user, I had always just downloaded the software straight to my computer. I really wasn’t expecting much but when I tried the no-download Party Poker software, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is fast, functional and very similar to the actual download software.

When you click the instant play option on the Party Poker website, a new window pops up and begins loading the software. A little dialogue box will also appear and ask for your permission to continue. Just click on the “trust” button and then you’ll be taken to the poker lobby.

If you don’t already have an account at Party Poker, this is where you create your account. Underneath the sign-in boxes, you’ll see an option to create an account. Just fill out the information and type in the Party Poker bonus code BonusPP when asked for it.

After that, you’ll be able to log in and play any time with your Mac computer. The Party Poker experience on a Mac is basically the same as it is for PC users. You’ll have a list of tables, tournaments and full access to the cashier. Any time you join a table, it opens up in its own window. Is there a Party Poker Mac Download?

No. All Mac users have to use the instant play option to play at Party Poker. The good news is that the no-download version is basically the same as the normal software download. You still have access to nearly all the same features players who use the full download version.

The only major feature you’ll miss with the instant play option is the ability to resize your tables. That part can get annoying for hardcore multi-tablers but it shouldn’t be a problem for most players. The tables are small enough that you can still fit several on the screen at the same time.

Actually, there is one option that Mac users have with which they can download and play poker. If you download a PC emulator, you can actually download and install PC software on your Mac computer. It’s a little of a pain at first but having a PC emulator can come in very handy for other programs too.

One of the most highly recommended PC emulators for the Mac is called VMware. I’ve never used it myself, though, so I can’t tell you a whole lot about it. There are also several free PC emulators out there but you’ll have to Google those yourself. Wish I could give you more details but at least this is a start.
